"The bad girl"

I really love reading books. Usually, I read books of spanish or Latin American writers. A few days ago I finshed reading some interesting book. The book is titled "The bad girl" and is writen by Mario Vargas Llosa, who is one of the most important authors from Latin America.

He was born in Peru, in 1936. It's important to say that he's not only a writer. He's also a journalist, politician, essayist and colage professor. In 2010  he recived Nobel Prize in Literature and it's shows how goods his books are.

I like reading his books. I like his style of writing and topics of his books. " The bad girl" is a novel which Llosa published in 2006. The story is a little bit complicated. The main character is Ricardo, a normal boy who is living in Lima. His life changes when "the bad girl" arrives to his province. She's a very beautiful and smark girl. He falls in love with her, but this is unreciprocated love. A lot of times, she appears in his life and disappears. His life goes on but he can't forget about the bad girl who knows the feelings of Ricardo but she don't stop hurting him. He lives in Paris and travels to London, Tokyo, Madrid...and everywhere meets love of his live. The bad girl appears like a nightmare or incurable illness, spends a lot of beautiful, romantic moments with Ricardo and when he thinks that she loves him...she goes away with other rich man. All the same Ricardo loves her and is able to forgive her everything.

The story ended when both are 50 years old. The bad girl is so ill. She has cancer and decides  to back to Ricardo. He takes care of her. They spend together the rest of her days. In the end the bad girl dies.

The love of Ricardo and the bad girl isn't romantic, but it's full of pain and sorrow.  All the same the love is real and only death is able to separate the lovers.

I really like this polish edition. The girl in the photo is very beautiful and remind me of the bad girl who was presented by Mario Vargas Llosa in his book. Except for the love story, the writer showed some diferent topics like peruvian revolution and economic problems in Peru. So, even if you don't like reading about love, you can find something interesting for you in this great book.
